As part of The Mascarade Masterclass Series, this public masterclass welcomes internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Marina Prudenskaya, joined by pianist and Artistic Director Julia Lynch. Born in St Petersburg and trained at the city’s Conservatory, Marina Prudenskaya has been a permanent ensemble member of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin since 2013 and performs regularly at leading opera houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Bayreuth Festival, the Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro Real Madrid and the Salzburg Easter Festival. A prizewinner of the ARD International Music Competition in Munich, she is widely acclaimed for her interpretations of Wagner, Verdi and Strauss. During the masterclass, singers from the Mascarade Opera Emerging Artists Programme perform live while being guided by Marina Prudenskaya and Julia Lynch, allowing the audience to observe the rehearsal process as it unfolds.
