The Nouveaux Ballets Russes (NBR) is a new international ballet company co-founded by the New Generation Foundation and Artistic Director Xander Parish OBE, bringing together outstanding dancers and multidisciplinary creatives of the highest calibre in pursuit of artistic excellence that transcends boundaries. The company includes artists from around the world, including Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States. Alongside its productions, the company is committed to the future of ballet by creating professional opportunities for young dancers and providing a pathway from leading international dance schools into the profession.
In March 2027, the Nouveaux Ballets Russes will make its official debut at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence with a new production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, marking the company’s inaugural performance and celebrating almost 150 years since the ballet’s premiere at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre.
Choreographed by Artistic Director and co-founder Xander Parish, the production will be conducted by James Conlon with the Orchestra del Maggio and directed for the stage by Jean-Romain Vesperini, bringing together an international creative team and leading dancers including Joy Womack, Vsevolod Maievskyi, Boris Zhurilov and Anastasia Matvienko.
